Teen mode: how Gym+ works at 16 and 17

What changes in Gym+ at 16 and 17, how to invite a guardian and what the guardian can see of your account.

Works on
  • iPhone
  • Android

Gym+ is for people aged 16 and over. At 16 and 17, the app works in teen mode: you train as usual, but some parts stay closed until 18 and others need a guardian's confirmation.

Step by step

  1. The first time, the Your age step asks your phone for your age range. If the phone has none, enter your date of birth, which stays on this phone only.

  2. At 16 and 17, ranking, league, teams, friends, duels and invites stay closed until 18.

  3. To train with a coach or keep your history in your account, a guardian has to confirm by e-mail.

  4. To invite your guardian, on the Profile tab, tap Settings and, in the Guardian section, tap Invite a guardian.

  5. Enter the e-mail of your parent or guardian. The link we send works for 7 days, and they follow your account only after confirming.

  6. In the same section, you see whether the invitation was confirmed and, under Your guardian's recent visits, when they opened the panel in the last 30 days.

Common problems

The invitation did not reach my guardian
Check the e-mail you entered and ask them to look in their spam folder. After a while, you can tap Send the invitation again.
The history in my account does not turn on
At 16 and 17, it only turns on after your guardian allows it in the guardian panel. See How to keep your history in your account.

Open in the app

In Gym+, tap the question mark on the Home screen to open the Help Center and search for “Teen mode (16 and 17)”. The Open now button takes you straight to the screen.
