Under Sensors, you connect a heart rate strap or a watch that broadcasts heart rate over Bluetooth. Your heart rate shows in the live workout, in the zones and in the workout summary. After the first time, the saved sensor connects when you train.
Before you start
- Turn on your phone's Bluetooth.
- Moisten and wear the strap: it only wakes up that way. On a watch, turn on heart rate broadcast first (Garmin: "Broadcast Heart Rate"; Huawei: "HR data broadcasts"; WHOOP: "Heart Rate Broadcast").
Step by step
On the Home screen, tap the settings button at the top, next to search. You can also get there from the Profile tab, under Settings.
Below the Workout group, tap Sensors.
The first time, tap Continue and allow Gym+ to use Bluetooth.
Tap Search for sensors and keep the sensor close to the phone.
Under Nearby, tap your sensor. It moves to Your sensor, with your current heart rate and its battery.
To stop using the sensor, tap Disconnect. To remove it from the app, tap Forget this sensor.
Common problems
- Nothing shows up in the search
- Keep the sensor close to the phone and make sure it is broadcasting. A strap only wakes up once it is moistened and worn.
- It says "Bluetooth is off"
- Tap Open settings and turn on your phone's Bluetooth.
- It says Gym+ is not allowed to use Bluetooth
- Tap Open settings and allow Bluetooth for Gym+ in the system settings.
- It says "No skin contact"
- Adjust the strap on your chest and moisten the electrodes.
- I cannot find Sensors in settings
- The device needs Bluetooth Low Energy to read a heart rate sensor.
Open in the app
In Gym+, tap the question mark on the Home screen to open the Help Center and search for “Sensors”. The Open now button takes you straight to the screen.
