How to set sound effects and vibration

Turn the short workout sounds on or off, set their volume and choose whether Gym+ only vibrates.

Works on
  • iPhone
  • Android

Gym+ plays short sounds when you start a workout, finish a set and celebrate a win. Each moment also has its own vibration. You can lower the volume, turn the sounds off or keep vibration only.

Step by step

  1. On the Home screen, tap the settings button at the top, next to search. You can also get there from the Profile tab, under Settings.

  2. In the Reminders and sounds group, tap Sound effects. Next to the name you see the current volume, Off or Vibration only.

Sound effects sheet: the effects switch with the volume, the Vibration only option, which mutes every sound in the app, and the Vibration option.

  3. Use the Sound effects switch to turn the sounds on or off. When you turn it on, Gym+ plays a sample sound.

  4. Drag Effects volume to make the sounds louder or quieter. When you let go, you hear how it sounds.

  5. Turn on Vibration only to silence every sound in the app and keep the vibration.

  6. Use the Vibration switch to turn the taps on or off. Each moment has its own: a light tap for a set, two knocks for a record and three pulses when the rest is over.

Common problems

The volume does not change
The volume control only works with Sound effects on and Vibration only off.
The rest alarm still rings with the effects off
The alarm has settings of its own, under Alarm sound and When rest ends. See How to set the rest between sets and the alarm.

Open in the app

In Gym+, tap the question mark on the Home screen to open the Help Center and search for “Sound effects”. The Open now button takes you straight to the screen.
