A duel is one friend against one friend. You pick the number that counts, such as check-ins, workouts, volume, streak or records, and how long it lasts. The duel only starts when your friend accepts. Only what already counts for the ranking boards counts here, and there is never money at stake.
Before you start
- Duels are for people 18 or older and are closed in the teen mode. See Teen mode: how Gym+ works at 16 and 17.
- You can only duel a friend who accepted you. See How to add friends by their @.
Step by step
Open the Profile tab, tap Ranking, open the Visits tab and tap Duels. In your friends list, the sword icon also opens a duel with that friend.
Under Challenge a friend, type your friend's @.
Pick the Number: Check-ins, Workouts, Volume, Streak or Records. Then the Length: One week, Two weeks or One month.
Tap Send the challenge. It stays Waiting for an answer until your friend accepts.
Challenges sent to you are under Challenges for you. Tap Accept or Decline.
Under Running, tap a duel to see the score and how many days are left. The ones that ended are under Finished.
Common problems
- I cannot send the challenge
- You can only duel a friend who accepted you, and only one duel at a time with each friend. There is also a limit of open duels, for you and for your friend.
- I want to take back a challenge I sent
- While your friend has not answered, tap Take it back.
- The duels screen does not show my duels
- Duels stay hidden while Medals, levels and competitions is off. Turn it on again in Settings, in the Workout group.
Open in the app
In Gym+, tap the question mark on the Home screen to open the Help Center and search for “Duels”. The Open now button takes you straight to the screen.
